ADVERTISING WITH COUPONS
Coupons are very effective marketing tools because people love to save
money. They also love to get something for free. Coupons are normally a
reasonably priced advertising tool, because consumers who visit the
business, with coupon in hand, usually end up spending more than the value
of the coupon on regular priced merchandise. Coupon use is on the rise.
Advertising Age reports that 87% of all shoppers use coupons. Regular use of good couponing strategy will provide a steady stream of new customers and high quality sales leads.

Tired of your customers shopping with your competitor? Entice them with a coupon to use your
product or services. Consumers will break routine shopping patterns to take advantage of a good coupon offer.

New residents into the city are attracted to businesses offering coupons.

Re-activate old customers. Those customers that have been lured away by your competitor will start buying from you again when you give them a good reason to do so.

When you have a "special deal offer", this same customer will probably end up buying additional items that carry a full profit margin.

Your main focus is getting the customer in the door.  You then have the opportunity to
"sell-up" to a more profitable product or service.

Build store traffic with coupons which result in additional impulse purchases.

Results are measurable -- couponing is the most measurable and accountable
form of promotion.

It is critical to determine what offer produces the best response from your
target market. Test different offers.  By doing so will greatly improve all of your
advertising response, your sales, and your profits.

Below, I have listed a brief synopsis of what the experts say, based on countless studies both scientific and otherwise on the consistency in advertising.

Don't expect results from day one.  We are overwhelmed by over 3,000 messages every day, and it takes 7-10 times for people to start recognizing your ad. This is only the impression stage. Now you have to wait for the prospects' need to arise. It is critical to be in front of your prospects on a consistent basis.  So when their need arises and they remember seeing your ad before -- they can still find you -- otherwise they will think you have gone out of business.

Keep at it.  Few people will be convinced immediately, and few of those who will be convinced will have any immediate need for what you are selling. By the time their need arises, if you are just  "testing the waters" and pull out, the prospect will have forgotten you."

If your doors are open for business, you should be advertising. You are advertising to a passing parade. People shop all the time...People move...People forget! People often take their time before buying, and when they do need your product or service, you want them to think of you.

"In Advertising, Consistency Pays Off" Steve McKee at BusinessWeek.com states, "In the world of advertising, consistency is a scorecord on the wisdom of crowds. People know that advertising is expensive, so the more a company advertises, the more successful it must be. And the more successful it is, the more it means that other people are choosing it. Which means that it may be a good idea for you to choose it as well.

The power of positive momentum
1) Through your initial advertising efforts...you will create an awareness of your business.
2) With repeated exposure, they'll learn that you're stable and you start to build the trust they need to do business with you.
3) With repeated exposure, they'll assume you're successful -- consumers assume a company must be stable if they can afford to advertise on a continuous basis.
